Vision: This early 1900’s two-bedroom weatherboard in a busy inner-city suburb had heritage requirements, however the owners wanted it to become a modern, private family home.

Approach: We set about opening up the ground floor to create meaningful living and dining spaces, while still maintaining period features such as the original street frontage, fireplaces and cornicing. Upstairs, we created two modern bedrooms and a small balcony within the existing roof space - perfect for letting in natural light.

Outcome: A 100-year-old property has been expertly lifted into the 21st century, with elegant contrasts between history and the future.

The design offers secluded spaces in areas that would otherwise be open and exposed, solving the issue of how to create privacy in an urban environment.
