Sandymount Avenue, Inverloch

Vision: The classic 1960s Beachcomber design was the inspiration for the owners of this Inverloch property. They wanted a relaxed family home with plenty of space for gathering together, as well as to retreat.

Approach: The original Beachcombers were small, so we took the concept and turned it into a larger layout fit for modern living. Downstairs features a master bedroom, home office and internal courtyard to create light, before opening into a kitchen and living area with a comfortable sunken lounge. Upstairs offers four bedrooms and a large balcony to soak up beach views. Brickwork and exposed beams nod to the 1960s.

Outcome: The home is a fresh take on a vintage style, with a functional floorplan that will work for the family long into the future.

The owners were inspired by the 1960s Beachcomber aesthetic, so we adapted that idea to suit the lifestyle of a modern family.
